The Sonoran Desert really doesn't have a "wet season" :-) The rainy
season is simply the time of year when there is a greater likelihood
of rain! :-) As for covering a Drosera bed during a monsoon, remember
those monsoons come on you so fast you'd need to be constantly ready to dash
out and cover them before the deluge. I wouldn't like to see the results
of plants left covered with plastic through a sunny day! :-) Anyway, I'd
be surprised if the Arizona monsoons are really any worse than Aussi rainfall.
In spite of their name, the monsoons don't dump any more rain than a
standard summer thunderstorm in the east.

I'm dubious about the chances of success with an outdoor "kiddy pool"
bog in the AZ desert. Even during the rainy season a tremendous amount
of water would be needed! (How wet was the spring "wet season" of 1996? :-)
I'd recommend experimenting with a few pots of spare plants stood in a
kitty litter box full of water, before trying more elaborate measures!
