Regarding D.binata...

Yep, Andy, it does go dormant. I have several clones with different # of
typical leaf tips and each has a slightly different but definite resting
period.

Regarding S. flava, burgundy type....

I strongly echo the words of the wise Carl Mazur. I have all red flavas,
flavas with red tubes and yellow lids, and a form with copper lids. Also
a few S. alata types with various amounts of red tubes. All will revert to
drab form for a year or two after transplants.
