Hello, everyone.

Although I have been growing CP sporadically since I was nine, and
continuously since 1976, I only became aware of this listserver about two
weeks ago.

I am interested in all CP. I have gone through "phases" where I wanted
to try growing the most unusual plants I could find. Now, I am most
satisfied growing what grows well in this climate without having to
resort to a greenhouse, which I cannot afford, or growing them indoors,
under lights. The Sarracenias are flowering now and the combination of
yellow, white, orange, pink, and deep red (some are hybrids) on 100 to
150 blossoms is a very satisfying sight. I will be photographing them
this weekend.

My collection consists of nearly every species of Sarracenia (and several
hybrids) and several species of Drosera. This year I am adding
Cephalotus. Oddly, although I haven't grown any Utricularia for at least
10 years, I suddenly have Utricularia flowers growing in one pot.

Hmmmm. It must have come in with a plant I bought last year. I live at
the edge of the desert in Southern California; the closest naturally
occurring Utricularia must be at least 200 miles away so I don't think it
is a natural weed...

Anyway, I just wanted to say "hello" to one and all.
