How I grow my favorite CP's:

I have four species and two hybrid Heliamphora: H. ionasi, nutans, minor
and heterodoxa, minor x heterodoxa, heterodoxa x nutans. All plants except
heterodoxa have mature pitchers. The two hybrids have both bloomed. I
grow all plants in spagnum or peat moss, standing in water. I used
distilled water only and change it every 2-3 months. I give them a little
superthrive with each water change (10 drops per gallon). The plants get
from 8-16 hours light. Those exposed to longer periods of light have the
best color. They grow in aquariums in the coolest part of the house. All
of them are growing like weeds, except for H. heterodoxa which just drags
along. Haven't figured that one out yet... I had one incident with aphids
but repeatedly hosed the affected plant down with a fairly strong jet of
water and I think that plant is now aphid free.
