No expert here, but I have been growing three species and two hybrids and they
are doing well. My H. minor is the only one to flower. It was flowering when
I first received it and is putting up a new flower stalk right now. It looks
like it will be a single flower, although it's too early to tell for sure. I
have all mine growing in a large indoor aquarium, live sphagnum, standing in
shallow water. Lights are on 18 hours summer, four lights, two standard and
two plant lights. This is one case where the addition of grow lights seemed to
make a marked difference for me. Standing in water seems to help too as there
seems to be increased growth when I top the tray off. 80F. is probably about
the high for mine, maybe a little less, and the temps drop some at night when
the lights go off. I have central air which keeps the general room temperature
moderate.

My questions:

1)Are Heliamps. self sterile? Or perhaps more akin to the Sarrs. is
the ideal receptivity of the stigma before or after maximum pollen
viability?

2)Has anyone been fertilizing their Heliamps, and if so what have you
used?
