You are certainly right (I am still not too sure that we are far away from
alchemy, however). Well, ask the conservation "authorities"! But I doubt
*they* will be pleased to be compared with alchemists.

See, the problem is not with me. But this world is populated by several
different kinds of people. We have to find a compromise, I am afraid.

Anyway, for scientific purposes, the precise data will be available (as
mentioned before). BTW, I do *not* want to be the person to decide which
purposes are scientific or not: this should really be done by those who
wanted the "secret service".

I think that plant mapping in the way intended is useful, practicable, and
desirable. I like the idea for its scientific value, and I will do
everything I can to help this project to become a success. If this has to
be performed in a way comforting rules and efforts of conservation, I am
willing to respect restrictions considered necessary.

It is essentially the job of the conservation authorities to decide which
restrictions are sensible.

Kind regards
Jan
