FWIW, the area in North Carolina where VFTs (not to mention Sarr. 
flava, purpurea, etc) is very poor. If someone has trouble 
feeding him/herself and is offered a bounty of 15 cents (for 
instance) per VFT, I'd think it'd be pretty attractive to spend a 
night in the swamp with a trowel and a sack. Please don't 
interpret this as me condoning this activity on anyone's behalf.
