Pygmy drosera tend to like surprisingly deep pots - I expect the
same is true of tuberous species. The common "weeds" - capensis,
spatulata, dielsiana, etc. don't mind much at all. You can't go far
wrong with full length, 5" pots for pretty well anything, though I
have to confess to growing most of my drosera in 3 1/2" pots to save
space (I don't have a greenhouse.) They tend to stay slightly
smaller this way, but they're all healthy, and I think it helps
flowering (hamiltonii particularly, which is traditionally shy-
flowering unless exposed to frost.)

Outdoors, in big terracotta bowls, I haven't had to change mine in
4 or more years. It hardens up over the years, so I break it up
and turn it over every spring and replant - the plants (rotundifolia,
intermedia, anglica, a few Pings and Sarras,) seem fine. In small
pots indoors I try to aim for repotting at least every other year,
though there are several pots that have been there for longer and
don't seem at death's door.
I guess the answer is "as long as it looks OK and the plants are
happy." Sometimes you get one that's failing to thrive, and a change
of compost perks it up in no time. Often the compost just looks
sort of tired - I guess you get a feeling for it.

Happy growing,

Peter
