Re: the recent thread on Pinguiculas eating fungus gnats...fungus gnats are
attracted to yellow - a good way to get rid of them is to use those yellow
sticky pads. The big light green leaves of a Pinguicula may well be 'read'
as yellow by these gnats... maybe the leaves reflect some yellow-spectrum
light. My P. moranensis spends the winter subsisting almost completely on
these gnats, and nothing else seems to catch them, not even pygmy drosera.
