Fongarid

Fongarid contains furalaxyl, which is an acyl alanine fungicide. This
group of fungicides are now known as Phenylamides. Others in
the Phenylamide grouping are benalaxyl and metalaxyl. As for the
Dicarboximides (e.g. iprodione), Benzamidazoles (e.g.
benomyl/Benlate) and the Demethylation inhibitors (e.g. triforine and
mycobutanil) there is evidence that resistant fungal strains may
develop under some use patterns. Strategies to minimise resistance
development are usually (in NZ anyway) printed on labels.
