And to speak of Germany: Safest thing to buy is "Quarzsand" (quartz
sand). Many other sands you can buy (play sands etc.) are limestone
sands. It depends on the geographic position but since great areas of
germany have limestone subsoil it is always a good idea to ask
specificaly for Quarzsand.

Well ... rumour says that VFTs also grow in a peat/limestone sand
mixture. (rumour = Slack in this case :-) I never tried it myself.

Heh heh. I had this in my sig a couple of months ago ... now my current
favourite PTerry is Soul Music. "Born to Rune!" And of course the
classic: "Faricate diem, pvnc!" :-)
