hello: my name is michael serpa and i've been lurking
for a month or two. i'm the proprietor of BAY ISLAND ORCHIDS
in alameda, ca. alameda is an island, off the coast of oakland,
in the san francisco bay with a superb climate for growing orchids
and cps. i've been growing orchids for twenty years and cps for
only the last year and six months . one "here, why don't you try to
grow this D. capensis with them orchids" was all it took to hook me
to one more "beneficial disease". the collection has grown to a few
hundred plants including drosera, sarracenia, pings, VFTs, nepenthes,
and a lone utricularia calycifida.
i'm very impressed with the high degree of knowledge and the sense
of humor the contributors display and i'm looking forward to learning
an laughing for a long while. keep it up and thanks !
