I haven't heard about that. Perhaps someone could confirm this?
I figure that the lights would last about the same but while you're
starting off with much better light even after the quality decays
some you still have a better light that what you'd get from cool/
warms tubes.

* Dave, Tru-Blooms are rated for 26, 000 hours. Most other lamps are rated
for 20,000. The manufacturers say you can use the bulbs several years, but
do no quite guarantee that they will be true to their spectrum rating, and
of course as you say, light output drops... I have some going on two years,
and from the colour of the plants leaves, the output appears to have
diminshed sufficently to warrant replacement. WSs retail at about $5, and
TBs at about $10, so it could work out...
