Hello!

Being a new member of the CP discussion group I would like to introduce
myself:

I'm 24 yrs. old and currently stationed at Tinker AFB, Okla. I specialize in
avionics guidance and control systems maintenance on the U.S.A.F E-3
A.W.A.C.S.
aircraft.

I became interested in CPs back in May 95 after seeing the CP Archive
Page on the net. Since then I've set up a 55 and 29 gal. terrarium
with dual 4' fluores- cent lights. I grow various nepenthes, sundews,
and sarracenia. I also grow dionaea, pinguicula, cobra lilies, and
cephalotus. All of these plants had to be bought through mail order.

One interest of mine is to alleviate the problem of getting CPs locally
here in the midwest by contacting CP growers that have mail order and
getting permission to send their pricelist to local greenhouses (D.
rotundifolia, S. purpurea, Dionaea, and some pings are usually all you
can get around here).

Another interest of mine is to learn tissue culture propagation of CPs (mainly
nepenthes). I hope this is something you can do in your home without all the
specialized lab equipment. I would appreciate any tips on doing tissue culture
at home.

Since I'm very new at growing CPs I probably will not be able to offer
any useful information at first. Hopefully as I learn more, I will be
able to take a more active roll in group discussions.

Thanks for your time.
