Hello,

I have recently joined the CP mailing list and thought I should introduce
myself to the others on the list.

My name is Marc, and I live in Adelaide, South Australia. I've just
turned 22. I am a qualified electronic engineer working as a software
developer for Australia's main communications carrier.

I grew CPs as a kid, mainly Sarracenia, sundews and VFT, but others as
well at various stages. That was a long time ago, and all my plants
have since moved on to the big greenhouse in the sky. But now that I
have a disposable income, I'd like to start growing some CPs again.

For those who haven't heard of it, Adelaide is situated about 1400km west
of Sydney, latitude 35 degrees south. It has a population of just over
one million and the climate is temperate with mild winters (average July
temperature of about 15 degrees celsius) and hot, very dry summers.

I don't have a greenhouse and I'm not planning on building one, so I'm
only interested in what I can grow outdoors (or in the house). I'd welcome
suggestions from anyone as to what would be suitable and some tips as to how
to grow them. I'd also like to hear from any "locals" who may have some
specific experience growing CPs in Australia or who know where I can
get my hands on (cheap) seeds or plants here in Adelaide.

My email address is mpeake@tais.telecom.com.au

Cheers,
Marc.
