is distilled water ok?

Is distilled water okay?
I too have noticed some white crystals on the top of my plant soil.
At first I was using Aquafina brand pure water. I looked at the
label and it said that it had less than 10 milligrams of minerals.
I used this for about a 3 weeks. I then switched to distilled water.

So I don't know what to do. Is distilled water okay?
Do I need to transplant my VFT to new soil?
What will the salt do to my VFT?
