Nepenthes, another use for....

My Nepenthes alata seems to perform another function other than catching
insects - each pitcher (some are > 7" long) now houses a cuban tree
frog. They live in there during the day, just their eyes peering out,
and come out and do their tree-frog-thing at nite.... No dummies, they
await the arrival of attracted insects.... <g>
