Re: Drosera peltata 'alpine' ?

Drosera "gracilis" appears like a smaller version of D peltata, but those
distinguishing features (basal rosette, hairy calyx) are not constant. It
has been described as a species, and does not inter-breed with its lowland
cousins.
At Canberra, "gracilis" occurs over 1000m, in wet flats / frost hollows
among carex/grass, with Utricularia dichotoma, Diuris lanceolata and
Spiranthes sinensis. It is waterlogged until September and remains green
through summer (though I suspect a drought would stop it)
As the epithet implies, it is NOT stockier. I do not believe it ever made
it into cultivation, but I don't see any merit in it.
Hope this of some use.
