CC>Several hours after thoroughly saturating the terrarium with CO2 I
CC>noticed that the lobes of the VFT traps were closing very slowly.
CC>By the end of the day, they were all shut tight as if they had each
CC>caught an insect. It took several days for the traps to open again.

CC>I understand that the movement in VFT traps is due to a rapid
CC>growth of the cells in the two lobes - could the CO2 have simulated
CC>this effect by causing rapid growth? Has anyone else observed this?

Yes I saw just the same effect on adding some dry ice to my terrarium.
It took the leaves 24-72 hours to reopen. I am interested in the why of
this also. The cell growth hypothesis is interesting, any other ideas?
