U. prehensilis

I've been growing U. prehensilis for about seven months now, and I
have yet to see it flower at all. I've heard the secret to this one
is keeping it wet, and, although I haven't kept it entirely submerged
as Slack suggests, the water level has been close to or right over
the surface most of the time. It seems to be growing happily like
this, but I wonder if I'm doing something to prevent it flowering.
I really want to make sure it is in fact U. prehensilis.

On an entirely different note, I was given a very sickly phalaenopsis
orchid this weekend. I know they're supposed to be easy, but I've
never grown orchids before and I don't want to start by killing this
one. Since this isn't strictly CP related, you might want to contact
me personally. Thanks.
