Best to my knowledge, no one knows where the genes for the sex in
Nepenthes are or how the sex is controlled at all.
Also a chimera can only be produced if you create a more or less
homogeneous mix of cells which means that you would need callus cultures.
Unfortunately nobody I know has managed to achieve somatic embryogenesis
(regeneration of plants from callus) in case of Nepenthes so far....but
we re working on it.....:-)
