I think you are spot on with regards to trying things out. I
think most of my plants are growing in conditions not supported
by most of the literature!
Under artificial light have you found your Heliamphora's pitchers
become very long and spindly and not robust? I had this problem
while I was trying to pamper my plant, it made it look worse.
