Mites in my Darlingtonia

I have 2 darlingtonia. One is ok, but all the new leaves are under
2". The other went into a long slow decline after it produced a large
leaf - which I fed a couple of moths. The hoods turned yellow and
then brown and purple spots appeared along the shaft. I tried putting
it outside for the cooler temperatures but it accelerated its decline.

When I clipped some of the more hopeless leaves, I found _lots_ of
black mites and what I assumed were egg cases throughout the insides
of the traps.

Any suggestions as to how to save this plant? Any way to get rid of
these mites, assuming they are the problem? Do these mites pose a
threat to other cps - especially nepenthes?

Thanks,
John
