Hello,

as a prophylaxe Treatment I used Resochin and Paludrine. The
combination is state of the art as far as I understand. However the
protection is never 100%, even if you catch non-resistant strains of
Plasmodium and of cause is zero if your strain is already resistant
to your prophylaxe.
These chemicals are expensive and you have to pay them even in
Germany (!). An alternative is buying Resochin in the tropics where
it is much cheaper.
I can only agree to your suggestion of checking with people
specialising in tropical diseases. I always did this and in fact the
malaria diagnosis was done at such a place.
In the usual hospital they did not find any cause of my fever and I
insisted being checked by a specialised team.
