I have a few Nepenthes, ie N. alata among others, which are not producing any
pitchers on higher leaves. These plants produced lower pitchers, and in
several cases have produced new basal growth crowns with pitchers, while the
upper 15 -20" of the original growth continues to produce new leaves without
pitcher development. Do some species not produce upper pitchers? Any
suggestions?
