Steve Klitzing has pointed out the amazing adaptations present in VFTs
allowing them to survive in any climate, anywhere on the planet by
commandeering human volition and technology.

I doubt whether there is enough evidence to prove whether cats developed
this same technique before or after VFTs. Indeed, it raises the
alternatives:

1. Has convergent evolution taken place?

2. Are carnivorous plants just well camoflaged carnivorous mammals?

3. Does the typical 25 hour per day sleep pattern of cats and their
preference for lying in the sun indicate that they are really vegetables?
