Just to intentionally confuse matters further...

Most if not all bromeliads produce the digestive enzyme bromelain. It is
produced in the tissues of the plant and fruit, has proteolytic
properties similar to those of papain and appears to limit the amount
that an herbivore can eat at short period.

If you try to subsist on raw pineapple, your consumption will eventually
be limited by mouth and throat inflammation. While you're digesting it,
it is returning the favor.

SO NOW YOU'RE GONNA SAY THAT THE DIGESTIVE ENZYMES HAVE TO BE IN THE CUP.
WILL IT NEXT HAVE TO HAVE TEETH AND CLAWS?

(If so, my cats who are vegetables about 25 hours per day qualify.)
