My collection of Nepenthes is modest compared to some growers, but I like live
sphagnum. First, it helps maintain a standard moisture level, second, it
doesn't break down nearly as fast as other 'soils', and third, I can tell the
moisture conditions for the plant from the moss. Fourth, I guess is that it
reproduces itself for your next plantings.
