Last night I sent an e-mailing of the compiled list of all plant orders to
those who are ordering CP from Uwe Westphal or Andreas Wistuba. If any other
U.S. "CP" subscriber wants to join, I'd like to have all plant requests ready
to send to the sellers by next week so our plants can be reserved for us next
spring. If you haven't received the e-mailing and you have sent me an order,
it should be sent again. I'm sorry if I lost any order from anyone. Cost
of plants ordered from Uwe should reach $1,000. Uwe requests a $500
prepayment in January, so if you're ordering from Uwe then 1/2 the money of
each order from Uwe is due to go toward this $500 prepayment. The rest of
the money for Uwe's plants and all the money for Andreas Wistuba's plants will
be due in mid-March.

Heliamphora:
I grow my H. minor in 1 part silica sand, 1 part perlite, and 3 parts peat
moss. It's been growing well since I got it. Sphagnum may hold too much
water and probably should be mixed with perlite to lighten it up. I heard
some like to put red lava rock pebbles in their Heliamphora soil.

Drosera seeds:
Is a microscope absolutely necessary to get a good look at the seed coat
of Drosera seeds? Can the difference between, for example, a papillate
(pimpled) and a crateriform (crater-like) seed coat be seen with a good hand
lens?

Nepenthes germination:
In the book _Carnivorous Plants_ by Juniper (et al), it is claimed Nepenthes
seed exposure to sunlight is essential for germination to take place.
