Re the Nepenthes collection in St. Louis - when you guys (used in the most
politically correct, non-sexist way, of course) say "St. Louis Botanic
Gardens", do you mean the Missouri Botanic Gardens in St. Louis, and not some
other institution of which I'm unaware?

If so, I can testify that the stingy curator in question is not typical of
the people at Mobot. I visited their aroid specialists this past April, and
they were extraodrinarily nice to me, considering that I'm a computer type by
vocataion and have no professional botanical credentials. Not only did they
take time out to discuss their work, show me the greenhouses, and let me
wander in them as long as I wanted, but gave me plants to see me off.

I wasn't aware that Mobot had a good CP collection then, and so didn't see
any of it.

I have a couple of contacts at Mobot, who have e-mail and can use it, but
again they are in the aroid group. I don't know how much contact there is
between groups, or how much influence these guys have on the CP people, and
don't want to presume too much on their kindness, but can ask what they
know about the CP situation there if desired.
