I heard of a case where a woman had three or four plastic flamingoes
stolen from her yard. A week later, she got a postcard from "the
flamingoes," from London. A few weeks later, from Munich....and so on
for almost a year, from spots all over the world. "Having a great time
here in Kenya...wonderful bugs in the water," etc. etc. At the end of
the year, she went out one morning and found her flamingoes back where
they had been originally, with a bunch of souveniers of all the countries
they had "travelled" to. It sounds like good urban legend material, but
who knows? :)
