I was visiting a grower in Picayune, Mississippi and he
showed me a picture of double flowered S. leucophylla.
It looked almost like a drooping purple mum. He is
propagating several of these and has promised me one
next year if they grow enough. This is the first double
I have ever heard of. Has anyone on the list.

I was checking out some cp sites around the Pearl River in
case anyone from the list was coming through the New Orleans
area. The Crosby Arboretum has almost all the local species
growing in native sites. The arboretum has land in many
areas of the Pearl River watershead and is dedicated to the
native flora. It is an easy trip from N.O. and lots of
chances for good pictures.

Then I went to the property of the man who has the double
S. This is a whole nother story. He has acres of several
species of Sarracenia that have hybridized every which way.
VFTs were all over the place and I have neve seen them more
active. We spent several hours walking through the bogs and
I will really need more time to sort things out. The owner
apologised all over the place because nothing was in bloom.
He said it is really spectacular when they are all in bloom.
He burns off the bogs every year and the cps really thrive.
It may be more difficult to wrangle an invitation from him,
but I told him about the list and that if any of you come
through I would call him.
