There's a botanical dictionary available from the internet. Try "gopher".
If you don't have it, you can use "telnet" instead - "telnet e-math.ams.org"
then use "e-math" for both the ID and password. Then, pick "e-math gopher"
from the menu. You then choose the following menu items in order:
1. Other gophers in the world
2. Pacific Gophers
3. Australian National Botanic Gardens
4. Tools and Reference Utilities
5. Botanical Glossaries
6. Botanical Glossary - Flora of Australia.

For a field identification book for North American CP, Don Schnell's
book, "Carnivorous Plants of U.S. and Canada" (or something similar) is
the best. The book was recently reissued in a cheaper paperback form.

For general field identification books, Dover Publications has a lot of
choices. Write:
Dover Publications, Inc.
31 East 2nd St.
Mineola, NY 11501
Ask for their Nature Book Catalog.
The three-volume set, "An Illustrated Flora of the Northern U.S. and Canada"
is offered for $15.95 per volume. 2087 pp. total.
