Perry, D. capensis is one of those South African Drosera which can't take
heat. Yup, they went away fast when I tried growing them outdoors on a
rooftop in AZ. That 115F did em in! No actually, I saw some go into
heat stroke even in the pad-cooled greenhouse at the DBG. Other Drosera
were fine (some even didn't mind the 115F, so long as they cooled at night.
If your plants heated up, that could be it.
