The pellets were very hard compressed peat, with a fairly
uniform diameter of about 4mm. The intended use was as
a substrate for a bacteriological aquarium filter.
The most obvious effect of these little pellets is to produce
a very well aerated medium, that still has excellent water
retaining capacity.
Mike is an airline pilot and picked up this wonder mix
in Germany. He said it was called "Schwarzetorf" and was
manufactured by "Sera" corporation. He had no other ordering info.
Has anyone else seen anything like this?
