Non-carnivorous leaves on a Mexican Ping?? I thought that these basically
grew throughout the year (maybe we a slowing down during winter) and always
produced the typical sticky leaf. The main "problem" with mine is that a few
daughter rosettes have formed under the 2 main ones (one of which is dominating
the pot and flowering) and I'd like to give them all more space to grow to
their ultimate size - my largest is only about 4 inches or so across (roughly)
and will hopefully get even bigger eventually.

Your ephiphyte stick would certainly make a nice display, but they can be very
time-consuming to look after as they usually dry out rapidly (my attempt did!).
You could even add bromeliads (say Tillandsias, and particularly the Spanish
"moss") and orchids too (some Utrics might grow OK also, maybe U. longiflora
and U. praelonga which seem to grow in straight sphagnum without much drama).
