I had a _Utric_ from Fred Howell finally flower the other day, after
several months of not doing anything much. It turned out to be some
_U.bisquamata_, but a very nice clone. For a long time I grew a plant
with tiny flowers, only a few mm long, which were yellow and white.
Then my clone from Gordon Snelling just recently flowered and the trait
I saw them with in Gordon's collection, flowers nearly 1cm across and
long with bold purple markings in addition to the yellow and white,
carried over into my cultural conditions. The clone from Fred Howell is
perfectly intermediate between these two in size, and colourations. The
purple is present but not quite as bold. A very nice little plant.

I also see that my _U.alpina_ is going to flower. I think, though, it will
happen while I am gone this summer. :(

Now I have to work on separating the _U.subulata_ weed from the
_U.bisquamata_ in Gordon's clone!
