Robyn,
We are basically talking about 4 fairly small families with more than two
species each:
Sarraceniaceae, the new world pitcher plants
Droseraceae, the sundews
Nepenthaceae, the old world tropical pitcher plants
Lentibulariaceae, bladderworts and butterworts + _Genlisea_
In addition to these come the very small families:
Cephalotaceae (1 genus and species in Australia)
Byblidaceae (1 genus, 2 species in Australia and New Guinea)
Dioncophyllaceae (3 genera with one species each, but only one carnivorous)
Furthermore, there are certain species trapping animals but not *digesting*
them. These are not carnivorous s.str. (e.g. Bromeliaceae, Martyniaceae,
Roridulaceae, etc.).
>From literature, and inspection of critical species in various herbaria,
I have compiled a synonym listing of all scientific names in the
families falling into the two first cathegories. (I have added
Roridulaceae for traditional reasons, and *not* because of carnivory,
which was positively shown to be absent in this family). This list is
freely available from the server this discussion group is run with. If
you have questions how to obtain it, please ask Rick Walker who is the
manager of this distribution list.

Kind regards
Jan
