I'd be leary of using the chilis due to oil buildup on the plants.
However it's amusing to note that pepper derived agents are used
in various chemical repellants for humans (i.e. tear gas). The
most effective type is based on a distilled escense of oleoresin
capsicum seeds. Sprays based on such are called "OC" sprays.
