I don't. I imagine that it would muddy the water, confuse the water fleas,
tangle the Utrics and trip their traps. :-). This is mostly because of the
small size of my container. Maybe you could get away with it in a 10 gallon
aquarium. It would probably be necessary only if you also keep fish in the
tank.

(Anyone know of any fish that will live in acidic bog-water?)

It seems to me that the Utric should oxygenate enough to keep the
Daphnia happy. In fact, as an experiment in sealed ecosystems, I've
got Daphnia/algae doing well for over two years in a sealed 1-gallon
glass jug.
