The same thing happened to me - only in this case it was a tiny Stylidium
(Triggerplant) species. There were hundreds of these small white flowers
growing in damp moss with typical terrestrial Utric type leaves. The only
thing wrong with them was the split "lower lip". An interesting discovery
anyway...

(Luckily, IDing wild CPs in this part of Australia is fairly easy - there
aren't too many species to choose from. Pity the poor Western Australian
botanist...)
