HI Everybody,
How many of you attend local CP Society meetings? I attended my
first full meeting of our local society recently. It is great to see,
trade, and buy plants at the metings as well as enjoy some of the other
benefits.
One member, a commercial grower, gave a Sarracenia division and
repotting demonstration at the meeting. Further, I learned from members
of the group that fungicides will kill Sphagnum! (I treated some sphagnum
given to me as a precaution against mold - not knowing that I was
actually killing it.) Meeting fellow growers, and seeing their plants
enriches the experience of growing by providing valuable insight, advise
and encouragement.
It would be interesting to hear about some of the CP groups
around the world. Our local society, "Bay Area Carnivorous Plant
Society", meets quarterly near San Francisco, Clifornia.
