Barry,
you wrote you'd like _U.australis_. Unfortunately this species is one
of those in _U.sect.Utricularia_ which very commonly produce abnormal
pollen and thus are quite sterile. P.Taylor has seen only one specimen
(from China) which had normal capsules. I have seen a _U.australis_
specimen in the Tuebingen herbarium (TUB) from the Balcan peninsula
which had capsules. But normally _U.australis_ can be recognized
readily in the field (if flowering) by the fact that it (almost) never
has ripe fruits. This fact may account for the profuse vegetative
reproduction in this species.

Fortunately, I have been able to obtain sterile plants (it was a hard
job though because they turions are almost always contaminated by
micro-organisms like hell!). Now they propagated nicely in vitro
(hundreds). If you like, I can send you a vial with turions.

Kind regards
Jan
