CP News:

I found the internet address for Hiroshima University: hiroshima-u.ca.jp
I sent a letter to the postmaster of this site asking for Katsuhiko
Kondo's e-mail address a few days ago. Is Katsu is still a prof at this
university? I'm using old info here - a letter Katsu sent me in 1983
addressed from Hiroshima University.

Michael Chamberland is back ... maybe.
I got a letter from him Saturday. He's a subscriber to the GEnie, Delphi,
and Prodigy services - but he didn't give me his ID on any of these systems.
Delphi and GEnie are capable of sending/receiving internet mail, but with
GEnie cost is extra and you have to specifically make a request to get it.
Delphi has internet e-mail included with all accounts. I e-mailed the
postmaster of Delphi to find his ID on this system but she couldn't find it.
Michael said he was going to drop GEnie and Delphi soon anyway. Prodigy is
supposed to have an internet e-mail service for subscribers soon, so we
probably won't be hearing from him for a couple months yet.

Weather here has been bad the past week. We had 1-foot of snow last
Monday with a temperature down to 5 F. Temperature was below freezing
the whole week until a thunderstorm Sunday when most of the snow melted.
Average lows is up to 28 (seen on the Weather Channel). Only a few
weeks until the average low hits the freezing point (signalling the End
of Winter IMO).

Plant news:
My Pinguicula rotundiflora is sending up a flower for the first time.

D. peltata is going dormant after its second year's growth.

D. stolonifera compacta is still VERY small after a few months growth.
This is their second growing season and were started from seeds about a
year ago.

>From Allen Lowrie's seeds, still only D. hilaris, D. chrysolepis, and
D. ramentacea have germinated. Only 3 germinated from D. chrysolepis
and 1 from D. ramentacea.

D. madagascariensis have finished flowering. They produce spindle-shaped
seeds. Flower stalk much smoother and longer than D. collinsiae. Flowers
were dark lavender. No caulescent growth yet.
