I'm behind as usual, but I have come upon a strange tale of
devastation. It's definitely an interesting idea to use a UV lamp to
try to cause your plants to make more anthocyanins (I like it!), BUT:
you probably should have stopped a moment and remembered the spectrum
of what we get from the sun (and the warnings about needing to wear
level 39 sunblock when you are outside because of depletion of the
Ozone layer).

Next time try a "blacklight" bulb instead of a short-wave lamp!
Remember, if you aren't supposed to expose your eyes to it, you
shouldn't expose anything else that's alive, either, unless you
specifically want to cause damage.
