Barry,
It would be very interesting to see if any hybrid involving _D.lanata_ is
possible. This species seems to be an aneuploid member of the _D.petiolaris_-
complex, and the aneuploids frequently are sterile themselves or they do not
cross with other species. If it does, however this would give precious hints
at the value of chromosome number for taxonomy in this complex (also, it would
be of interest which chromosome number(s) result(s) in the hybrid(s)).
