Hi Dwight

Just a quick list of things to check for your VFT`s
Are they growing in a 50/50 peat/sand or peat/perlite
Are they receiving bright light ?
Are you watering them with distilled water ? (rain water is good too)
Humidity over 50 %
The roots should not be kept submerged in water (will cause root
rot)
What size pots are they in?
Do not apply fertilizer

These are some of the things to check for VFT`s and CPs in
general.Your pitcher plant is probably a Sarracenia purpurea or
purple pitcher plant like you said :o)
