Subject: Cephalotus energy-traps?

Hi Paul,
Just had a look in Lloyd and he mentions that there are two dark,
spherical patchs on the inside wall of the Cephalotus traps. He
says that the patches are the most remarkable feature of the
plants and are thickened regions in which mesophyll is more
developed than other parts of the plant, it projects inwardly but
does not show through to the outer side. It could be a super-energy
trap similar to that found in those stone succulents with the little
window...Lithops?
Any ideas out there?
Richard.
