Howdy folks, Peter here at California Carnivores. Marilee and I returned
yesterday from the Southern California Spring Garden Show at Costa Mesa, and
we had a blast. I just wanted to thank all the folks on the chit chat line
for stopping by. We sold a lot of plants (we ended up bringing a army of em
down, but sold out anyway). The most enjoyable experience is just watching
the expressions on people's faces when they saw our display - many folks
completely unaware that such fantastic plants even existed. When some folks
asked where our nursery was located, we told them "Roswell, New Mexico" - and
many believed us! I must admit we brought down some killer specimens to
display. Everyone was really friendly and it was great to see faces we hadn't
seen in a couple of years since we last did the show. Most amazing were the
photos of spectacular highland Nepenthes some folks grew outdoors near the
coast. Golly gee, wish we could do that in Sonoma County! Anyway, no
earthquakes, but we just missed the tornadoes and drove home in violent
storms and massive traffic jams that lasted hours. Ahhh, Los Angeles!
Seeya. Peter
