This database is built upon the organization of Jan Schlauer's World CP list. The main additions to Jan's list are the the photos and other information that have been linked in to the database.

1. This file is free for distribution as long as it is given away rather than sold (unless expressly permitted by the author), and the copyright notices in the source file are left intact
2. No part of this work may be reproduced or utilized in any form or by any means, electronic or mechanical, including photocopying, recording, or by any information storage and retrieval system, without permission in writing from the author.

CP Database Draft Copyright Statement for Images

1. By submitting an image to the database, the Submitter certifies that he/she is the copyright holder and grants to the CP Database project the right to make the images available free of charge on the World-Wide-Web. The Submitter further grants permission to the ICPS to use the images in derivative products - with any financial proceeds from such products to be used to further the conservation, education and research goals of the ICPS.
2. All copyrights and other intellectual property rights not specifically discussed herein are retained by the Submitter.
3. Third party use of all images for non-commercial use (e.g., WEB page, class reports, conservation posters, etc) is permitted as long as the original copyright statement from the database photo caption is reproduced verbatim as an acknowledgment.
4. Commercial uses (other than by the ICPS) of the photos must be cleared directly with the original copyright holder, as indicated on the photo caption as it appears in the CP Database.
5. Any other specific restrictions stated on the photo caption supercede and take precedence over this general policy statement.
6. In addition to the mandatory acknowledgment of the copyright holder, it is suggested, as a courtesy, that the CP database WEB address, the ICPS address, and the address for ordering the CP Database CDROM be cited also.
